Käisin "Idiooti" kaks korda vaatamas. Esimest korda, kui mind kinno kutsuti, ei teadnud ma, et see võib mind nii palju liigutada (ei suutnud pärast õieti maad ega ilma öelda ja küllap vaadati mind kui Idioodist löödut, olin justkui mõnes uimas; emotsionaalne narkomaan).

Läksin ja laenutasin raamatu, sama nimega kui filmgi. Teadagi, et tegelastel oli nüüd sama nägu, mis neil filmis, aga kogu see võimas psühholoogiilne taust, mida paraku kahte tundi ära ei mahuta, andis neile juurde midagi palju sügavamat.

Teist korda filmi vaadates jäi palju puudu, sisust ja näitlemisest. Kohati nagu mõnitatakski raamatut, kuigi see pole tõsi. Sellest hoolimata olen ma endiselt filmist sisse võetud.

Ainus tegelane, kelle nägu ja näitlemine sulas kokku kujuga raamatus, oli Nastasja Filippovna (Katariina Unt). See nägu ja need silmad, sama tugev ja habras, saatuslikult julge ja hirmul, segaduses ja kõigest teadev, nii palju vastandeid! Ilus.
